mile bicycling and camping adventure
Our official start was from the base of the Golden Gate Bridge in San
Francisco on Sunday afternoon. |

Doug, Ron Misiunas (Doug's cousins son from
Indiana) and his friend John Hudec, Bob Kubinski & Liz Harvey. |

We stopped to watch a dozen hang gliders flying along the Fort
Funston cliffs (Liz, John, Ron) |

Sunday was overcast and cold for California. We bought some wood
and had a nice fire at our Half Moon Bay campsite. |

Day 2
- Monday August 4
A 66 mile ride to Sunset Beach near Monterey. John & Doug at the
Pigeon Point Lighthouse. |

A short walk from our Sunset Beach State Park campsite over the dunes
took us to the Pacific.

Day 3 -Tuesday August 5
Castroville - here Liz left us to ride solo to Salinas to catch a
train back to her Bay Area home. |

Lunch in Carmel at the Rio Grill with Doug's friends Jerry & Sharon
Hoffman and Jim & Sheila Lindgren. |

We had a great campsite in Big Sur this night - right on a river.

Day 4 -
Wednesday Aug 6
Big Sur to El Morro Bay

Day 5 - Thursday
August 7

Along Highway 101 in Pismo Beach |

We passed several thoroughbred horse ranches along highway 135 on the
way to Buellton. |

Ron - proud of clocking his first one day 100 mile ride ever!
The total for the day was 111.4 miles |
