with her dad Doug Malewicki
- 4th place in the Spring Chicken 28.5 mile race!
I never heard of
this Spring Chicken race for 60 year olds and above
until my super 70at70 pacer friend, Kirk Fortini, mentioned it
near the end of our Day 3.Well this could be fun and Michelle had a free entry from coming
in 1st in age last year. Let's do it!
I ended up 4th
overall in 6:24:34 and was the first 70 year old or older to finish.

This is the elevation profile for the Spring Chicken race. The Garmin
GPS said
we
climbed a total of 4,317'. A GPS yields incredibly
interesting data
and 3D Google Earth views after I upload it into
www.motionbased.com.
This is a Google Earth 3D view of our
28.5 mile run. I added
all the notations.
What awesome technology!
Click on:
Leona Divide Flyby Tour (takes
2 steps)
and wait for Google Earth to open, then zoom down from orbit to the
view that shows the red outline of the Spring Chicken 28.5 mile course. Once it
stabilizes, click on the Video Tour Button shown on the left.
This will start the animation and bring up the control bar.
The view during the animation will give you a great 3D feel for the
mountains and valleys we traversed.
